Weather

The Rogue Valley has four distinct seasons. Spring arrives around March with dry warm weather. Summer is hot and dry. The temperatures begin to cool in fall. Around the 2nd or 3rd week in October the rainy season begins. The annual rainfall in the area is 20", considerably lower than northern parts of Oregon. It is not uncommon to have over 10 feet of snow in the surrounding mountains in the dead of winter, while having only a light dusting on the valley floor which usually melts within a few hours. Wintertime lows drop down below freezing occasionally, and in late July to early August it is not uncommon to see a couple of weeks of high 90's to low 100's but as summer progresses the temperatures begin to drop off and it becomes quite livable.
