Outdoor Recreation
You cannot be in any part of the Rogue Valley without realizing that all the excitement and adventure of the great outdoors is here for your enjoyment. Even looking out at the night sky; the many stars, more than you may have ever seen if you come from a major city, seem to stand as silent witnesses to the undefined splendor of your new home in the idyllic Pacific Northwest. This versitile area offers fishing, rafting, boating, skiing, camping, music, theater, hunting, biking, golfing, fairgrounds and parks and is only 2 1/2 hours from the Pacific Ocean.
Camping and Hiking
Hiking the scenic and rugged trails of Southern Oregon are among the most popular activities that the magnificant Rogue Valley affords. River Rafting
The Rogue River offers some of the best whitewater rafting in the country. Beginning at Crater Lake, the 215 mile long river winds through the Cascade, Siskiyou and Coastal Ranges before emtying into the Pacific Ocean at Gold Beach, Oregon. Though most of the river provides a calm ride, the river takes a wild and scenic trip for 60 miles starting from Hellgate Canyon through the coastal range where it ends at the Pacific Ocean. Thirty two miles of the wild and scenic section is protected by Federal law and is one of the most remote river courses in the United States.
